Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

The short version

SnipX edits your audio entirely on your device. We don't upload your files, we don't sell your data, and you can use the core app without an account.

1. Who we are

SnipX (“SnipX”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an MP3 cutter and audio editor application for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how, when you use SnipX (the “App”).

2. Our core principle: on-device processing

All audio editing — importing, trimming, cutting, fading, merging, recording, and exporting — happens locally on your device. Your audio files are never uploaded to our servers or any third party as part of normal editing.

3. Information we do not collect

4. Information the App may access

To function, the App requests only the permissions it needs, and only when you use the related feature:

Media & files

To let you import tracks and save exports, the App accesses the audio files you explicitly select and the folders you choose to export to. It does not scan or transmit your library.

Microphone

Used only when you actively use the voice recorder. Recordings are saved locally and are never sent anywhere by us.

Notifications

Optional — used to show export progress or completion. You can disable these in your system settings.

5. Analytics & crash reporting

We may use privacy-respecting analytics and crash-reporting tools (for example, Google Play services / Firebase Crashlytics) to understand aggregate, anonymous usage and to fix bugs. This data is aggregated, does not identify you personally, and never includes the contents of your audio. Where required, we ask for your consent before enabling analytics.

6. Purchases & SnipX Pro

Optional Pro features are sold through Google Play Billing. Payments are processed by Google — we never see or store your payment card details. Google may share limited, anonymized transaction data with us for order management and support.

7. Advertising

If the App shows ads in a free tier, advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may collect device identifiers to serve and measure ads in line with their own policies. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings. Where required, a consent prompt is shown before personalized ads are served.

8. Children’s privacy

SnipX is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Data security & retention

Because your audio stays on your device, you remain in control of it. Any limited diagnostic data we process is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above and is protected with reasonable technical and organizational measures.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

11. Third-party services

The App may rely on third-party services (Google Play services, billing, analytics/crash tools). Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate, notified in-app.
